Supporting Regional Businesses
We support regional businesses by training new graduates, upskilling existing staff, and offering specific schemes and projects designed to drive innovation. This includes providing access to our specialist technical and scientific facilities, as well as supporting the development of the new regional Innovation Zones.

Our Objectives:

• Strengthen the regional business support and innovation ecosystem by ensuring long-term programmes are in place, such as the Shared Prosperity Fund, aligning with the goals of a 10-year UKRI funding agreement.
• Collaborate with partners to promote broader initiatives that will catalyse the regional innovation ecosystem and create significant growth.
• Position the North East as a testbed for innovation, piloting new methodologies to enhance collaboration between businesses and universities and driving innovation in products, services, and processes.
